in short cps took two children claiming child abuse. one got sick in school and our new born never left the hospital we have been in court going on four years fired three sell out attorneys now cour appointed.
I apologize for the length, but I have a question / need some insight. My sister has had issues with CPS for quite a while (legitimate drug related problems). CPS tried to terminate rights (for a little over 8 months), during this period they constantly tried to get her to voluntarily terminate rights in exchange for ~2 visits a year under the guise they were concerned that if she went to court she would lose all rights.
My heart shattered reading about your heinous ordeal Patricia.
Prior to this year, I never gave CPS much thought. I wrongly assumed that the innocent would always be seen as and the guilty found out and punished.
What I have learned, also in Traverse City Michigan, is how naive I was.
In heaving sobs, my head buried in my own legs, wailing with bitter tears of no more second chances, not here, not ever. Alone I stood against the over-crowded masses of family court, it was finished! The decision had been made before my arrival. With a common signature, I had released the children I rejoiced over when I learned of when they were growing inside of me. I surrendered ever feeling the hands that once traced my womb, cleaning the feet that had kicked me in the late night hours.
